I think a lot of us are pretty excited about Taobao store’s opening! It’s the latest brick-and-mortar store by e-commerce giant Alibaba Group partnering with Lumahgo New Retail Sdn Bhd and MyTOWN Shopping Centre, where Taobao Store located.
The 5,000 sq ft outlet is Malaysia’s most comprehensive Taobao store to date, offering a seamless and convenient mix of online and offline shopping experience using New Retail technologies.
Their tagline “See it, feel it, buy it,” clearly show their mission to let Malaysia consumers able to touch, see and spend their hard earned cash on a product they wanted to buy.
How can a walk in shoppers make a purchase ?

- Picked up items from Taobao Store if stocks are available / Delivery to Malaysia if stocks are not available

Shoppers can also make full use of New Retail-inspired technologies such as the ‘Magic Mirror’ which allows them to put on different types of makeup virtually and make purchases with just a few taps on the screen. Other premium amenities at the store include a café, a children’s play section and a dedicated leisure area.
“We are thrilled to launch the largest Taobao store in Malaysia. The Taobao store will serve as a platform for us to showcase popular products and introduce new ones that appeal to local consumers,” said Jess Lew, Marketing Manager of Tmall World Malaysia.

The Taobao Store by Lumahgo will offer more than 1000 products. It will feature locally popular items across top selling categories in Malaysia, such as mum-and-baby, electronics, beauty, home & living and smart home appliances.
To celebrate its opening, Taobao Store by Lumahgo is offering in-store customers up to 50% discount on selected popular items such as Xiaomi 65″ TV and smart speaker Tmall Genie on a first come first serve basis.
From 29th Nov – 1st Dec, shoppers can get special discounts on regular purchases as below:
- every ¥80 (RM 48) spent — ¥5 (RM 3) off
- every ¥500 (RM 297) spent– ¥50 (RM 30) off
- ¥1000 (RM 594) or above — ¥200 (RM 119) off
RHB credit card users can get an additional discount of up to ¥30 (RM18) for every ¥169 (RM 100) spent on their next purchase;
