The Indonesia wushu athlete struck 2 gold medals in Gunshu and Daoshu. Sadly, his dad can’t share his happiness anymore.
The official SEA Games 2019 page shared Edgar’s heart-wrenching story.
They also described the athlete’s team, who was in tears after his victory, and those are not just tears of joy. He was only informed about his dad passing after his competition.
Edgar dedicated his 2 gold medals to his late father, as well as his country.
He flew home immediately to attend his father’s funeral after received his medals.
The grieving son placed his gold medals in the coffin as he dedicated the win to his father.
