Johnny Depp (56 yo) ex-wife, Amber Heard (33 yo) had repeatedly accused him of domestic violence during their marriage. The couple were married for 15 months before finalising their divorce in 2017.
However, a leaked recording indicate the victim might have been the abuser. What?! Check this out..
In a 2015 taped two-hour therapy session, Heard is talking to actor Depp, then her husband, about their strained relationship, admitting that she hit him, and had previously threw pots and pans.
“I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you’re fine, I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you,” said Heard.
Depp admitted that he had pushed her too.
Depp also said: “I love you and I want you to be my wife. And I wanna be a good husband. If I haven’t been, I’ll do everything I can to find out how to be a good husband.” But, sadly their relationship doesn’t work out..
In 2018, Heard went on to write an op-ed for Washington Post about being a survivor of domestic abuse, although she didn’t mentioned Depp’s name but specified the abuser as her ex-husband.
In response, Depp filed a US$50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard.
When news of the couple’s divorce documents broke, several friends of Depp, including his ex-wife, Lori Anne Allison, and his ex-long term partner, Vanessa Paradis came to his defence.
“In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years,” Allison shared.
