Goo Hara’s biological mother has also appointed her own legal representative. She claims that as Goo Hara’s mother, she should receive 50% of the inheritance split. However, Goo Hara’s biological father disagree with the absurd request. He has also given his 50% share to Goo Hara’s brother.

Goo Hara’s father told the media “We cannot accept the mother’s request. The mother abandoned her when she was young. What rights does she have to receive any of Hara’s assets?”

“I have traveled all over the country to try and cover the expenses to raise the both of them. Up until now, Hara and her brother have spent their schooling days without their mother. All the while , it’s their grandmother and her brother took care of Hara.”

Due to the transfer of the inheritance, Goo Hara’s assets would be split 50/50, between Hara’s mother and her brother. However, her brother has also raised an objection.

“Hara was only 9 years old when our mother ran away from home. She spent her life fighting the trauma of being abandoned. Our father paid for Hara and my living expenses, After she debuted, our father acted as her guardian.” said Goo Hara’s brother.

Goo Hara wrote in a memo back in 2016 how much she misses her mother.

The memo come with the message :

As you say, as you think. It all comes to this. I need to protect myself. I know myself the best. No, I am more sensitive about myself, than anyone else, it’s really scary how much I know. I know when my energy will be taken away, so I can manage always being happy and having a positive attitude.

I miss my mother. I want my mom to feel that I miss her. It’s always stuck in my throat, but I can’t spit it out, it just sinks back in. I am more desperate and want this feeling more than anyone else.

More than anyone. Pain… no. I have been hurt. That’s enough.

On March 3, Goo Hara’s brother filed a suit against the division of the inheritance, basing it off of Article 1008 of the Civil Law, which states that the courts should consider the importance of those who have contributed to the maintaining and increasing of wealth for the deceased person.

Hopefully, the court will do a right judgement!
