Japanese fashion designer and Twitter user @tsunekawa_ has been thinking up a dessert that’s fun and easy to make but also pleasing to look at. And i think they absolutely nailed it.
Drum roll please …Here we go” The Rainbow Milk Pudding”
- Agar powder
- Granulated sugar
- Shaved ice syrup / fruit juice
As simple as ABC!
Step 1: Combine 4 grams of agar powder, 150ml of water and 60 grams of granulated sugar in a pot and mix thoroughly. Heat up the mixture and turn off the heat once the mixture begins to boil.
Step 2: Pour the 300ml of milk into the mixture. After thoroughly mixing, place the mixture in the refrigerator to chill and harden into gelatin.
Step 3: Repeat Step 1 in a different pot.
Step 4: This time, combine the 300ml of water into the second pot and add in roughly 20ml of shaved ice syrup or fruit juice. The more brightly-coloured the mix, the better. Put this mixture in the refrigerator to chill and harden into gelatin as well.
Step 5: Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 for as many colours as you like.
Step 6: Once everything has fully chilled and harden, take the mixtures out. Cut the colorful gelatin into small cubes and arrange them on top of the white milk gelatin mixture.
And there you go! A beautiful rainbow milk pudding is ready to serve!
You can also give it a twist by adding some sake or cider into those colourful jelly. @tsunekawa_ named it ” Jelly punch “..
