Wearing Face Masks is Compulsory Starting 1st August!

Some citizens are taking Covid-19 pandemic lightly. A lot of us maybe started to go out without mask, forget about social distance, and probably some also not adhere to SOP given. Thus during RMCO, we can see no. of positive cases are increasing.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today that starting from 1st August 2020 it is mandatory to wear a face mask in public transportation and crowded places. He said those who disobey will be slapped with a compound of RM 1,000.

He said that the reason of increase in the cases is because of Malaysians are neglecting SOPs that have been given by the government.

Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also said that home-made masks are also allowed but have to be made according to the specifications by the World Health Organization (WHO) which will be given soon so that everyone can make their own face mask.

Before this the wearing of face masks wasn’t mandatory because some people can’t afford to buy face masks all the time since the regular face mask can only be used once.

Although it is mandatory to wear face masks starting 1st of August, but those who are going back to their hometowns during Hari Raya Aidiladha are told to wear face masks and maintain social distancing in public areas, said Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Malaysians should take the pandemic seriously and follow the SOPs given by the authorities to break the chain for Covid-19 . We are in this together!
