A horrific accident happened at Jalan Keramat Pulai near Simpang Pulai yesterday (Aug 11) around 5.30pm, a collision between a Perodua Alza MPV and a trailer lorry led to 7 killed and 3 others severely injured.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said they received a distress call on the accident at 5.55pm, reported by NST.
“A team of firemen from Simpang Pulai was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, we found that there were 10 people in the MPV.
The deceased, who has not been identified, comprises 2 children and 5 adults, who were killed on-the-spot. While 2 children and a man are injured. The bodies were taken to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for post-mortems and the injured were conveyed to the same hospital for treatment.
It is learnt that Alza with 9 passengers and a driver was en route to Cameron Highlands, Pahang, when the accident occurred.
According to the China Press, The MPV was believed to go in the opposite direction of the road where it crashed with trailer. However, police urged witnesses to contact them in order to assist in the investigation.
