Primary School Student in Subang Tested Positive For Covid-19

A Primary 2 student in S.J.K( C) Subang was tested positive for Covid-19, another 4 family members were also infected and been treated in General Hospital Sungai Buloh.

According to China Press, the infected primary 2 student is a Sarawakian. The parents and 2 siblings in secondary school were also infected.

Spoke person from the school confirming the incident and told media, ” The said student went back to Sarawak on Aug 4 and returning to KL on Aug 17. The student was back to school on Aug 18,19,25 and 26 but the said student was absent on Aug 27 & 28.”

The school only learned about the student infected by the virus when they contacted the mother to understand the reason being of the absence.

The school has since issued a message to the other parents of the students, saying that the school will be disinfected. It also urged that everyone remain calm.

The school is now waiting for instructions from the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Health (MOH)  whether to remain open or close.

Question about whether the teachers and the students who have been in close contact with the confirmed student need to be isolated? The spoke person said it all depends on the ministry’s decision.
