12)Hameed Pata Mee Sotong
This is a classic! When you go to Penang, you definitely have to try Mee Mamak. It is at Esplanade Park right next to Fort Cornwallis. Heads up, that the line here can be very long. 10)Ais Tingkap
The name comes from the fact that they used to sell the drinks from a window, this shop is really popular with its special drink. The recipe for this drink is almost 100 years old! It made from Rose syrup, basil seed, coconut water, coconut meat, and jelly. It tastes so good that people would queue up for hours!
9)Roti Canai Gemas Road
This place is popular for it’s Roti Canai with chicken and cheese! This sounds appetizing, right? The taste is heaven~ It has a flaky yet fluffy roti canai, chicken, cheese, onion and smothered it in their thick but flavourful curry. You seriously don’t want to it miss out!
8)Sup Hameed
If you come to Penang, this is a place that you don’t want to miss out on! They specialize in making soup. They even have a lot of types of meat that you like and rare that you can try. Every serving of soup will come with 2 pieces of bread. If you want to order a bowl of rice to eat with eating, you are welcome too. Definitely, you need to try!
7)Roti bakar Hutton Lane.
This place serves a variety of roti bakar that you can try. The most famous one is the Roti Kaya, which is a coconut jam that tastes very delicious and sweet! They are also Roti Canai Ayam and also Roti Canai Telur Goyang with cheese! This is a great breakfast place that you can go to fill up your belly in the morning.
6)Sany Char Koay Teow
This place very famous for Char Koay Teow Basah. The prawns that they used also big and juicy, mix with the koay teow and their special sauces, created a rich and delicious broth. You can ask with a sunny side egg on top for an extra topping!
5)Kareem Pasembur Rojak
Pasembor Rojak is a Penang’s special food. It has shredded cucumber, potatoes, beancurd, turnip, prawn fritter, bean sprouts, or seafood, served with a sweet and spicy nut sauce. This place is very popular for their homemade sauce is quite unique as it is extremely less reddish in colour and the taste is finger-licking good!
4)Teochew Chendul
This place has opened over 80 years! No wonder people would lined up for it, right? The taste is soo good. The green pandan-flavoured jelly and red kidney beans with coconut milk, palm sugar and shaved ice will taste so good in hot day! It also fasts so you don’t have to worry about the long queue.
3)Ais Kepal Cannon Street
You cannot hate Ais Kepal. It’s cooling and also delicious! Well, this place not only serves bomb Ais Kepal but also a special Ais Kacang. It has banana, mango, corn, beans, grass jelly, watermelon, sugar palm fruit, jelly topped off with ice cream and crushed peanuts. You can never go wrong with these sweet desserts!
2) Dimsum and Mua Chee at DIMSUM VALET
If you love dim sum, this is the place you can come for a great dim sum It had variety of dim sum selections, Chinese cuisine for you to try! It is also at a very reasonable price which is RM4.60 for each.
This place also famous for its muah chee! Muah chee is made from glutinous rice, crushed peanuts and sesame seeds. The texture and taste are phenomenal! You need to try this at least once in your lifetime!

If you come to Penang and didn’t try Nasi Kandar, people would say you are failing at the highest level because this is what Penang is famous for! This place is the best place for you to try if you never tried authentic Penang Nasi Kandar. Not only that, but this place is also the oldest!
