Alligators are opportunistic feeders. I believe everyone will run when alligator come close to you. But this Chinese lady who was washing her utensils at the riverside just staying cool with an alligator next to her.
The incident happened in Anhui province, China. Where this lady with surnamed Lee, washing plates at the riverside, but she was looking extremely calm when she was doing her housework with an alligator accompanied by her side.
Madam Lee told media, she always accompanied by this wildlife when she washing her plates, utensils or clothes at the riverside.
” Sometimes, the Chinese alligator will hunt for fishes in river or the chickens when it’s hungry. Although the alligator ate the poultry we raised before . But, it’s ok. Sometimes we will also feed the alligator,” she said.
The alligator is been there for years. Moreover, it never harm or hurt anybody. Thus, Madam Lee said she and the people staying nearby the riverside are quite used to stay with the alligator. Sometimes, she even take pictures of the alligator when it’s looked cute.
Normally, the alligators are hibernating during winter and they will be out for sun and hunting for food during summer. The alligator will normally goes down to the river when they is stranger, but it don’t mind to stay around with the people it “knew”, those who are staying nearby the riverside.
The Chinese alligator is a crocodilian endemic to China. It grows to 1.5–2.1 metres in length and weighs 36–45 kilograms as an adult, smaller in size compare to other crocodilian family. It’s a docile species, it generally does not intentionally hurt humans.
Listed as critically endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, multiple conservation actions have been taking place for this species.
