Malaysian barista, Irvine Quek did it again and won another International latte art championship.
Last year, he won the 2018 World latte Art Championship (WLAC) organised by World Coffee Events in Brazil.
And now he has won the 2019 World Latte Art Battle (WLAB) organised by World Coffee Battle in Seoul, South Korea.
World Latte Art Battle was held in Seoul, South Korea over the weekend till Monday. With participants hailing from all over the world. In the finale, we saw a stiff competition between Irvine and representative from South Korea, Kim Young Jin, and Irvine won the title by 10 points different.
He also shared his winning design in his instagram, which comprised of a bear holding on to a fish in its mouth, which he titles “BEAR N FISH”. Apparently the design took him 3 months to develop, perfect every single details of the design to make it realistic and impactful.
“Get the world champion title in a same day, but different year. After 365 days, I’m back to the stage again.
“It’s was a very tough time for me and it’s full of stress in the period of preparation, glad that I made it and I feel so happy to all of the people who supported me and I’m happy that I didn’t disappoint you all. ” he said on his Instagram.
We’d like to wish Irvine a big congratulations again! You Make Malaysian PROUD!
