On Monday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the Restricted Movement Order (RMO), which is effective from March 18 to 31.

A lot of Malaysia decided to’ balik kampung’. Thus, we can see long queues are forming at various district police stations tonight, following an announcement that Malaysians are required to obtain a special written permit to conduct interstate travel during the RMO.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said today that the move is necessary to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

The New Straits Times obtained a photo of a long queue of people at a police station in Section 6, Shah Alam. It is not immediately known if the people in the image are applying to travel outside their respective states during the RMO.

Earlier, a form to obtain permission for interstate travel made its rounds on WhatsApp and social media.

On the other hand, we can also see major traffic congestion along the North-South Expressway(NSE) and several sections of the expressway Tuesday (Mar 17) night.

Among the affected stretches heading North include Sungai Buloh-Rawang, Rawang-Bukit Tagar, Slim River-Sungkai, and Juru-Bandar Cassia.

They also tweeted that traffic was slow-moving at the Penang Bridge from the island toward Perai and onwards to Permatang Pauh.

Our prayers to all Malaysian in this time and always remember 3 phrases :

SOCIAL-DISTANCING, SOCIAL-DISTANCING and SOCIAL-DISTANCING that is the only way we can curb the spread of the virus!
