As we know, during the Movement Control Order (MCO), all the “non-essential” businesses are required to shut down or stop running. The companies can only continue operating remotely by requiring the employees to work from home instead.
Those who disobey the MCO, will be caught and slap with a large amount of fine and even be jailed.
Recently, a factory director asked his workers to work in the middle of the night secretly.
According to the report of China Press, this happened in a recycling factory which situated at the industrial area in Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani. The factory director illegally commanded two of his workers to come to factory at 11:50 pm on 4th of this month.
It violated the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and the director was charged with pleading guilty. He was fined RM10,000 and jailed for 7 days.
In the case that fine cannot be paid on time, he will be jailed for 6 months.
In addition, another 23 men who are aged between 18 to 41, were also charged for breaking MCO rules. They are fined RM1,000 each and also jailed for 7 days.
In the case that they cannot pay the fine on time, it will be replaced by imprisonment of a month.
