A dog in Singapore was catapulted to fame recently just because of its inadvertently appearance on a picture by Straits Times. The article was posted on April 29, which titled “Singapore’s Covid-19 death rate low, but seniors vulnerable”.
However, most of the people didn’t take attention to the news but a dog covering its head with a bag which showed up on the picture.
▼ The dog had literally caught the public’s eyes and you just couldn’t ignore it!
Since then, more and more netizens keen to find out more about this dog and started to search for it on social media. Everyone thought the reason of the dog covered a bag on its head is to prevent Covid-19 due to the outbreak.
Rachel Liaw, the daughter of the dog’s owner wrote a post on Facebook to introduce her mother and the viral chihuahua.
She explained the reason of covering a bag on the dog’s head, “It is a very thin and soft netting, breathable. To prevent Baby from licking other dog’s urine, when they go for walks 3 – 5 times a day.”

Love positive outcomes. Guess the world is still nice and beautiful after all.
Yes this is my lovely mum, with her beloved chihuahua, I got for her about 7 or 8 years ago.
At first when this came out on Straits Times. I got rather worried. My brother was pretty cool though.
My mum has this “system” for quite some time actually, way before Covid-19.
It is a very thin and soft netting, breathable. To prevent Baby from licking other dog’s urine, when they go for walks 3 – 5 times a day.
We never stopped her, even after they came out in the news. Because my mum is a very happy old lady, with her very happy and well-loved dog.
I don’t have the heart to stop her. And if the dog is uncomfortable as well, the dog wouldn’t walk. They are both very happy!
But both my brother and I, just quietly observing this situation. In hope that no one “attacks” or creates troubles for my mum.
Only should that happens, then both of us will step up, in order not to kill her joy prematurely or unnecessarily.
We are very glad it all turns out to be a very happy joy now! We thank you everyone for being so kind.
