Press the elevator buttons may put us into risk of spreading or infecting Covid-19, therefore people tried every way to avoid touching the buttons directly.
For the safety of customers, a shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand had employed a series of measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 including installing foot-operated control panels in their elevators.
Seacon Square shopping mall recently shared the photos of the measures on social media and received praise from netizens.
Other than the measures they took at the shopping and dining area, they did some changes at their elevators as well. Customers don’t have to press the buttons with their fingers at all but use their foot to press the foot pedals.
All the buttons in the lifts are totally replaced by the foot-operated control panels in the lifts!
To avoid touching anything, customers could select the floor and open/close the door easily by pressing the foot pedals in the lifts of the mall, much unlike the traditional elevators.
The mall also provides hand sanitisers at the lifts and stickers on the wall and floor for giving the users instructions.
Seacon Square stated that it hoped the measures would turn into the new normal for shopping malls in the country, so that they can prevent not only the spread of Covid-19 but also other kinds of germs, while promoting better hygiene and safety among the public.
