The new short-term economic recovery plan which is called PENJANA has just announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, in the latest live telecast today(June 5).

▼ ① 1GB Free internet data for education and video conferencing
Malaysians will be given 1GB of free internet data, 8am to 6pm daily, until the end of this year(December 31).
It is only available to browse educational websites and video conferencing applications.
“Whilst embracing the new normal, it is important for us to ensure continuity in our daily lives, especially in terms of work and the education for our children,” Muhyiddin said.
▼ ② Free RM50 eWallet for Malaysians
In order to encourage safe and contact-free payment, Malaysians will be receiving RM50 of e-wallet credit from the government.
Malaysians who are aged 18 and above, are eligible to enjoy this benefit, and they should be recorded as having less than RM100,000 annual income.
▼ ③ Get RM30 monthly pass for public transport
The government is introducing the RM30 programme to the people of Klang Valley for lessening their burden of transportation costs.
“To reduce transportation costs, the government will introduce the RM30 programme, where public transportation users can enjoy travel passes without limit for only RM30 per month which is equivalent to RM1 per day.
Under this programme, the public can use public transportation in the Klang Valley under the supervision of Prasarana,” said Muhyiddin in his special address today.
▼ ④ RM300 one-off payment for OKU and single mothers
Over 300,000 disabled persons(OKU) and single mothers who are listed under the Social Welfare Department will be receiving RM300 as a one-off financial assistance and it will be distributed before Hari Raya Aidiladha.
Muhyiddin said that the government will also provide grants for relevant registered non-governmental organisations which always support the vulnerable groups.
▼ ⑤ Employers who hire the unemployed will be given RM800
The government announced that it will be allocating RM1.5 billion under its Staff Hiring Incentive Program for encouraging employers to hire staff during the downturn caused by the pandemic.
Muhyiddin said, “Financial incentives will be given to those who hire the unemployed and youths. For those who are under 40, they will get RM800 per month per staff and the second incentive for those above 40 and the handicapped, they will get RM1,000 per month. These incentives will be given for a total of six months. ”
