Great news to all the bookworms in Malaysia!
Eslite, the largest bookstore chain in Taiwan which is known for its impressive ranges of books and 24-hour operating, is planning to open its first outlet in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next year!
According to a recent report of Focus Taiwan, Eslite Spectrum Corp, Mercy Wu made announcements about the closures outlets in Taiwan and also the part of their business restructuring plan at the company’s annual general meeting.
She said that the company has been confirmed to open their first outlet in Kuala Lumpur, which is capital of Malaysia in 2021 and it will be the first Eslite outlet in Southeast Asian Market.
Oriental Daily reported that the store which is opening in Kuala Lumpur is expected to be about 3,300 to 6,600 square meters wide. Even though the exact location in Malaysia hasn’t revealed, the reports said that it will be debuted in the City Centre of Kuala Lumpur.
Eslite was established in 1989 by Robert Wu Ching-yu. The first shop was located in Dunhua South Road, Daan District, Taipei, with a focus and emphasis on art and humanities-related books.
Since then, the company has expanded and set up more outlets and increased its range of titles on offer. For attracting night-time readers, Eslite Bookstore was the first to set up a 24-hour bookstore in Taiwan at its Dunhua store.
Eslite Bookstore in Taiwan got famous over the world for its atmosphere and there are Eslite cafes featured in some of their bookstores. Booklovers are allowed to have beverages and food while enjoying reading.
