Dr. Hu Weifeng, 42-year-old, were diagnosed with Covid-19 on Jan 18 while working at the Wuhan Central Hospital.
The critically ill doctor were taken to the Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital and then transferred twice, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
The skin colour changed was caused by a hormonal imbalance after their livers were damaged by the coronavirus, Chinese state media reported.
Hu, a urologist, has been bedridden for 99 days and is still very weak after undergoing ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) therapy from Feb. 7 to March 22, according to his physician, Dr. Li Shusheng.
He only regained his ability to speak on Apr 11. 3 days later he was transferred to a normal ward. However, on Apr 22 he suffered from an Intracerebral Hemorrhage.
Sadly, his health conditions deteriorated and another Intracerebral Hemorrhage on May 21. He was said passed away today ( Jun 2).
While another doctor, whose skin also turned dark, Dr. Yi Fan was recovered and discharged from hospital on May 6.
Yi and Hu both worked with whistleblower Dr. Li Wenliang, who was punished for sounding the alarm over the coronavirus and died of the illness on Feb. 7.
