Kuala Terengganu’s cinema will start implementing designated seats for male and female movie-goers, boys on the left and girls on the right. Cinema will only play a role in advising the “misbehave” patrons. But, authority from the state government can issued a summon to those who do not adhere to the rules.
LFS Cinemas spoke person said CCTVs are installed in the cinema and those CCTV recordings will be streamed live on a big screen in the threatre lobby, encouraging patrons to behave, reported by China Press.
Anytime, if the authority doing random checking, patrons have to show proof like certificate of marriage, while for non-muslims, they can showed their IC. When you are purchasing ticket at the ticketing counter, the crew will get details of the patrons then only decide what seats to suggest.
While, family members can choose to either sit on the male zone or female zone.
In the initial stage, the spoke person said he think the authority will just warn the patrons who disobey the rules. However, he think patrons should not “misbehave” in the cinema.
The cinema just started to implement designated seats for male and female patrons on Jul 4. The matter become a hot topic in social media. He said not all disagree with the new rules. They were about 50% of Malays supporting the new implemented rules by the state government.
