We all know that new norm is following the SOPs like wearing a mask, maintaining at least 1 meter distance in public and checking temperature before entering a place. All the shops and restaurants are required to follow the SOP to halt the spread of the deadly virus.
On Wednesday, 8th July 2020, two food and drink stalls operators in Sibujaya and 19 of their customers were fined RM1k for disobeying the recovery movement control order (MCO).
They were arrested in an compliance action led by Sibu deputy OCPD Supt Collin Anak Babat at approximately 8.45pm Wednesday.
According to Supt Collin, the suspects were caught for not observing social distancing at the two stalls.
“The 19 customers, including 13 women, were also brought to the Sibujaya police station,” he added.
Then later all of them were issued with a RM1,000 fine.
Also, the compliance team gave six summonses for not wearing helmets and other traffic violations to motorcyclists.
