A photo on the closing order of a Mamak Restaurant after 2 of its worker infected with Covid-19 went viral on social media and it was reportedly issued by the relevant department at 3.30pm yesterday.
Restoran Ali Maju Sdn Bhd owner Datuk Jawahar Ali Taib Khan was contacted and confirmed the incident. He told media that he had received a temporary closure notice of one of his restaurants at Wisma Rampai.
He said a directive came from the Federal Territory Health Department this evening to have the premises sanitised under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
The restaurant will be closed for 14 days for sanitisation and other cleaning works, reported by NST.
Jawahar Ali said following the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, he had taken precautions, health, and safety measures in accordance with the government’s standard operating procedures (SOP).
He said it was important for the SOP to be followed strictly to curb the virus.
“Insya-Allah, I hope nothing bad has happened and I am ready to take the next course of action pending further instructions,” he said.
