Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir confirmed that his daughter, Meera Alyanna and son-in-law were among the 29 people who were arrested earlier for violating the recovery movement control order (MCO).
At around 1.20am on Aug 22, a police team raided a pub in Taman Tun Dr Ismail in Kuala Lumpur and detained 20 men and 9 women who were believed to be customers and allegedly stayed beyond the permitted time allowed under the recovery MCO.
Mukriz said he was thankful for the fair handling by the police. He also confirmed both of them were fined RM1,000 each for the offence and they have all paid.
He was disappointed that it happened despite having advised his family to adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP) during the recovery MCO period.
“And since advice was given, they deserve to be fined, ” he added.
When asked if his daughter was intoxicated as claimed by some quarters, Mukhriz, who is the president of the newly formed Parti Pejuang Tanahair (Pejuang), said he would not comment anything outside of the police statement.
So people, please be a cinderella for now! Go home before 12 midnight ok!
