When decorating your house, your mind would be a mess! There’s a lot of things you need to consider like budget, style, and utility. Well, this woman on Facebook decided to make a video on how she transformed her parents’ kitchen into a very modern and luxurious kitchen for below RM800!
She started with sharing picture of the kitchen before transformation. It was very messy, lack of sources of light, small. Even though they have a small budget, she definitely tries as much she can to change the kitchen’s style
For the makeover, she used 4 rolls plain wallpaper which she bought from the Shoppe for RM 17 each, a set of table and chair which cost around RM350 from Shoppe, a set of blind from Shoppe for RM45, 2 unit of Hyllis Large size rack from IKEA for RM60 each, 3 litter of paint that she bought from a hardware shop for RM15.10 and lastly, storages from Eco shop all cost for RM80. The total amount of the items are RM 740.30. With all of that, she transformed the kitchen like a fairytale. I mean look at that!
At first, the place have a rack where they make it as a storage and a place to do all food preparation. However, the position of this shelf is very impractical because its relatively large size causes the kitchen space to be narrow. Apart from that, the stock of goods stored is difficult to retrieve. She changes it up with a new set of table and chairs to make room. It also makes it brighter and gives a better mood to cook!
For this area, it used to have a 3 level rack that stored the ingredients. It looks very unorganized. To make it more organized, she put a rack that she bought from IKEA and the 3 level rack, she used it as a place to store all the dishes and utensils. She also makes sure the unused tools are stored in the closet so that they look neat and tidy.
As for the window area, she told that she doesn’t look down on the area because it is a very important area since it provided sources of light. She doesn’t encourage people to use it as a place to dry kitchen utensils. Then, she makeover the area by putting a blind on the window. Why? Because you can use it whenever you want to let the air or light in without letting other people see you.
In the corner of the kitchen, there is another shelf used to place cooking items but this position is not very suitable & makes the corner area look narrow. For the corner part, replace it with oil and a spatula so that the cooking work becomes easy & the area becomes spacious. Moreover,she also added the green plat to make it more interesting!
This is the part of the kitchen that has 2 different mosaic patterns. It makes the cooking area not uniform. To solve the problem earlier she used PVC brick wallpaper for the mosaic. This wallpaper is waterproof and also heat resistant. Furthermore, she uses white wallpaper on the cupboard door to make the kitchen space look spacious & clean.
In this section, there is another shelf that is not used and placed in this empty space. Thus, for this part, she put one more IKEA shelf, where it can hold water fryer and other items as well as decoration so that this space does not look boring. She does not put all electrical items on this shelf because most electrical items are heavy.
