Earlier this afternoon, opposition chief Anwar Ibrahim made a breaking announcement indicating that another change of federal government is coming soon, claiming that he now has the backing of enough parliamentarians to become the next prime minister.
Speaking at a press conference that was called on short notice, the PKR president said that he had obtained “strong support” from MPs to present to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, reported by Malaysiakini.
Following that, the palace confirmed King postponed the meeting with Anwar which was supposed to be on Sep 22 as he had to undergo treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN).
Later on, Tan Sri Muhyiddin urged everyone to stay calm and say he is still the legitimate Prime Minister of Malaysia.
While, Tun Mahathir says he will “wait and see” what materializes from Anwar’s claim that he has the numbers to show majority support and form the next government.
What an eventful day in Malaysia. While, everyone was kind of stress, couldn’t foresee what’s next? Our former prime minister, Najib Razak uploaded a photo of him paying for his favorite cheesy snack- Super Ring in the payment counter on Facebook and wrote “Time like this, we must make sure we have enough stock”, in an apparent dig at rival politicians.
Super Ring became strongly associated with Najib in May when he appeared to troll rival politicians after posting a photo of himself eating the snack – apparently not the first time he had posed with it in the past.
