A Thailand drama series “Sapai Rai Sakdina” from Channel 8 has issued an apology after a sexual fondling scene went viral and criticized by netizens.
The video and photos from the TV drama were circulated widely in social media. In a scene, a male lead can be seen touching the female lead’s breasts several times with his two hands, reported by Nation Thailand.
Social media users slammed the scene as unsuitable for public broadcast. Netizens commented that female artiste was molested in the public and criticized the production teams that making fun on this topic showed that they don’t respect women.
Channel 8 apologized for the scene but added that it was only intended as entertainment and it did not involve sexual harassment as interpreted by some netizens.
However, the TV station also said that it was ready to review and edit other TV shows which had not been broadcast to prevent the repetition of the same mistake.
