A house which belongs to a lady who stayed in a red zone, which is currently under CMCO was broke-in 3 times within 2 weeks, when they lodged a police report, the police suggestion was giving them a shock, as they said, ” Sell off or rent out the house if no one staying, then no more break in cases.”
The lady who worked in the city, is not able to go home due to the CMCO. The thieves took the opportunity when no one staying in the house for 2 weeks. They broke in and took away cash, home appliances, red wine and even cooking utensils. The total lost is few thousand ringgit.
The lady asked her mother to help lodged a police report. But the police said, ” if no one staying in the house then you should sell it or rent it out, when no one staying of course the thieves will be eyeing on them.”
Madam Lau, 37-year-old told China Press, she is working in Petaling Jaya and not able to go back to her house in Ulu Selangor during the CMCO period. The first broke in was on Oct 13, where they destroyed the home alarm system and stole the cash RM 2,000. The second time was 3 days later, where they entered from the main door and stole some wines, brand new utensils and home appliances.
The third time they searched all over the house and even cut all the plush toys. According the her, the same group of people involved in the spate of home break-in in the same residential area. They don’t even cover the face when they break into those houses and turn on the music loudly, seems like they got nothing to be afraid of.
Even when the police was there, they will purposely ride on the motorcycle and shouted ” happy oh.. happy oh..”. Even some people in the neighbourhood already sending CCTV footage and vehicle no. to the police. But seems like no progression from their end.
“The house is from my late mother-in-law with full of memories, i don’t understand why do i need to sell it off just because a lot of break-in cases in my area, is there really no solution for it?”
