A tragedy happened just a day before the family celebrating Deepavali, a little Indian boy was killed after he was accidentally stabbed by his 11-year-old cousin in Taman Cempaka, Setiawan.
The 7-year-old, youngest of three siblings was killed instantly after being accidentally stabbed in his chest at around 10.20pm incident on Friday, when both their families were busy making final preparations for Deepavali on the next day.
His 43-year-old uncle, D. Mathialagan told NST that the incident happened when the boy’s cousin, went inside the house to take a knife after being told by his mother, to cut a rope.
“The boy who lived next door suddenly ran into the house before they bumped into each other at the front door.
“In the blink of an eye, blood was everywhere, ” he added.
Mathialagan said he ran straight towards his nephew and called his name.
“When I held him, there was no response and I was shocked. I did not know what to do until our neighbours came and urged us to bring him to the hospital quickly, ” he said to The Star.
“I remembered his mother – who is my sister – cried the entire journey and that is something I would never forget.
“We took him to the Seri Manjung Hospital but he did not make it,” he said with teary-eyes.
The uncle said his nephew’s request to have mutton curry before the tragedy struck would forever haunt him.
“I told him that he could only taste it the next day as it was the main dish for Deepavali celebrations. We didn’t expect that he would be gone so soon,” he said.
The victim will be cremated today (Nov 16).
Meanwhile, Manjung district police chief Nor Omar Sappi confirmed the matter when contacted today.
He said the post-mortem was conducted at the HRPB this morning and further investigation would be conducted to determine if it is due to foul play or negligence.
