[Video]2 Helicopters Collide and Crash Near Residential Area In Ampang, 2 Killed and 2 Injured

Two helicopters, believed to be privately-owned, crashed in Taman Melawati, Ampang near to a school, this morning killing two passengers and another 2 were injured.

The two helicopters, each with two occupants comprising three men and one woman, was believed collided and crashed, plunging to earth at around 11.45am today (Nov 8).

Resident nearby who witnessed the incident, saw the two helicopters flying above the Bukit Tabur quartz ridge before one of them began swirling wildly in the air for about three minutes, reported by FMT.

While, according to NST, another eye-witnessed said she heard an explosion before they went down. One helicopter managed to land in an open field of a Tamil school nearby. Another one near the main road heading to Taman Melawati, Ampang.

A resident, Mohd Irwan Hashim, 42, said he was among the first to arrive at the crash site and saw two people lying motionless strapped to their seat inside the cockpit in one of the helicopters.

“We failed to resuscitate them. Soon after that, the ambulance arrived.” St John’s ambulance medical personnel then confirmed that two of the victims had died. The deceased have been identified as My Heli Club’s captain and chief flying instructor, Commander (Rtd) Mohamed Sabri Baharom, and Mohamad Ifwan Rawi.

The two injured victims are former Malaysia Airlines chief executive officer and managing director, Datuk Ahmad Jauhari Yahaya, and the sole woman, Tan Chai Yan.

Police spoke person said the 2 helicopters which owned by My Heli Club took off from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang and was headed to Genting Sempah. But, details of the crash are still sketchy.
