After Apple iPhone 12 Series, Xiaomi Also Launches Phone Without Charger

After Apple iPhone 12 series, Xiaomi also announced that its next flagship’s launch, the Mi 11 series will not include a charger in the box due to environmental concerns.

Xiaomi took Weibo to share the news that brand new packaging of Mi 11, light and thin and it’s officially launched.

Xiaomi will not to include a charger in box of Mi 11,  the decision was made due to environmental concerns.

“Today, everyone are with extra chargers. This is probably something that puzzling you and also a burden to the environment. We knew our decision may not be understood or even criticised. But between the normal practise and the environment, do we have a better solution? Let’s discuss about it next Monday during our press conference.” wrote the tech-giant in Weibo.

E-waste includes different forms of discarded electric and electronic appliances that are no longer of value to their owners. This can include mobile phones, televisions, computers, chargers, keyboards, printers and earphones.

Do you know? Currently there are about 4.78 billion mobile phone users globally (61.2% of the world’s population). And mobile phone chargers alone generate more than 51,000 tonnes of e-waste per year.

Right after Apple, Xiaomi also took the same move by removing charger to reduce the environmental impact. So, Who’s next? Samsung? Ya..Samsung might be doing the same thing.

In a report by Tech Radar, Samsung is also rumoured to be removing the charger from its next launch, the Galaxy S21 series.
