Ministry Of Higher Education Launch A New Programme Where Students Can Get Fund To Start Their Own Business!

There are a lot of people these days who are trying to make a business. Even though there is a variety of financial assistance available, most of them are for people who earn a steady income and employed. This is very hard for students who are trying to make a business to get a fund to help them get on their feet.

Worry not because Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has decided to help the graduates by launching KPT-MEDAC Siswapreneur, a programme with an allocation of RM20 million.

This programme is a collaboration between MOHE and the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC). In the programme, it will be offered to the students a micro-credit financing through TEKUN Nasional.

. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between MOHE and MEDAC on the 26 November 2020. The signing was witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad and the Minister of MEDAC, YB Dato’ Sri Dr Hj. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

During the press conference, the Minister of Higher Education YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad hopes the launch of this programme would help student entrepreneurs with their burden.

The pilot KPT-MEDAC Siswapreneur programme will first be implemented at 15 selected higher education institutions (HEIs) for the first six months before being extended to other HEIs.Here are the list:-

– Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS)

– Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA)

– Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)

– Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP)

– Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah (POLIMAS)

– Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah (PSAS)

– Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (POLISAS)

– Politeknik Sandakan Sabah (PSS)

– Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO)

– Politeknik Kuching, Sarawak (PKS)

– Kolej Komuniti Baling

– Kolej Komuniti Kok Lanas

– Kolej Komuniti Arau

– Kolej Komuniti Manjung

– Kolej Komuniti Masjid Tanah
