First Batch Of Covid-19 Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine Has Arrived In Malaysia!

With currently 2,461 new Covid19 positive cases as of February 20 and 28,0272 of total Covid19 cases in Malaysia, the most awaited vaccine has made its landing this morning. This first batch of COVID-19 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine (312,390 doses) is flew from Pfizer factory in Belgium with Passenger-to-Cargo (P2C) flight using Airbus 330-300.

This vaccine was departed from Puurs, Belgium and transit in Leipzig Halle Airport, before continuing its journey to Singapore to be distribute to other Asian Pacific countries, including Malaysia.

DHL Express will be responsible for distribution of this vaccine as they are globally official agent appointed.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin will be the first individual to be injected with this vaccines at Putrajaya Health Clinic this Wednesday according to Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Then it will be followed by Director of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah. Total recipients on the first day will be informed later, but among the early ones receiving is the vaccine injector group.

There will be 3 phases in the Immunization Program:

▼ Phase 1 (February – April 2021) : Front line officers.

▼ Phase 2 (April – August 2021) : Seniors aged 60 and above and high risk group.

▼ Phase 3 (May 2021-February 2022) : Residents in Malaysia aged 18 and above.

The National COVID19 Immunization Program will be on Wednesday, February 24, instead of Friday as in the previous plan.
