Making a Fuss Suspected Rider Stealing Drink, Netizens Bashed Him and His Company Terminated Him

Under the new norm, a lot of us trying not to head out to public places or dine-in restaurants. Thus, most people will choose to order food delivery via some app, be it Grabfood, Foodpanda, and so on.

But this netizen took Twitter to blame that delivery rider stealing his Starbucks drink where he was then bashed by other Twitter users.

His post read: 

Hello GrXX, Why is your rider steals my Starbucks drink? I ordered 3 but I only got 2. If you want me to buy you the drink. Just ask for it. Not stealing my drink.

I already reported it to GrXX but they kept silent. Babi (pig).

His Twitter page was deleted at the moment after been bashed by other netizens. Some netizens do explain to him it shouldn’t be the rider’s fault as they are not allowed to check the food items.

Even GrXX also stepped up to defend the rider saying it’s not their responsibility to check the order.

The netizen replied,” Then what is their job? just deliver food? This kind of irresponsible job scope is great!”

The heated argument didn’t just stop there, he also replied to those netizens who criticized him saying they are jobless, instead of leaving his tweet a comment, they better spend time updated their resume.

▼ Some thought he is sarcastic, another said ” Bro, first time ordering GrXX? Don’t simply blame riders steal your drink, they won’t jeopardize their livelihood for anything. You can lodge a proper complaint they have proper protocols to follow through.”

▼ Some suggesting how he should be dealt with it, with more humanity !!!

▼ Someone sharing a tweet, which read,” This is 100% correct. Not only GrXX but riders from whichever company are not allowed to open the sealed food items. That’s against their work etiquette.”

▼ Some sarcastically suggested he, first use the brain then the procedure on how to get a refund was shared. Most importantly is to take a photo(s) of the order.

▼ one said,” It’s not the rider’s job to check. Most restaurants will seal the bag. But you can message the rider, asked them to check. McD used to always missed out on the toy in Happy meal, since then I always asked the rider to help check in case McD missed it out. Otherwise, it’s not their fault. It’s the outlet’s responsibility.”

▼ ” Ehh every time I report missing items to GrXX, within 5 mins I already got the refund lah. No need to make a fuss like this Aiyo. It’s been few times I experienced missing items, report to GrXX to make a refund. Just upload the picture and get your money back. The app comes with a function where you can ask for a refund.”

▼ One also sharing his experience of missing food items and got his refund within 2-3 hours. He also stressed that it’s not the rider’s responsibility to check the order cause it would jeopardize the order as well.

And according to China Press, the netizen who was involved in the heated argument on Twitter with rude behavior already been terminated by his company. As stated in the letter, he was contracted staff and the company can’t tolerate any rude or inappropriate behavior within or outside the organization.

Thus, your opinion on social media carries more weight than what you think. The outcome is probably what you couldn’t take. So, think twice before you act!
