There are many reasons you can and should explain why you are leaving your job. As long as those are valid reason like career advancement, changing career paths. The company will normally approved the resignation. But for the sake of leaving the company, she claimed herself Covid-19 POSITIVE!
I believe everyone know, if any positive cases in restaurant or cafe. They are required to close down for sanitization, and all staff in the outlet need to undergo Covid test. This is a serious matter as everyone is trying their best to contain the virus. However, this 19-year-old youngster was lying claimed she was infected with Covid-19.

All of us in the F&B ( Food & Beverage) industry took extra precaution especially during the pandemic. Braving through the hardship as we do not know when will be the next MCO. As well as whether our staff or customer will get infected when they dine in with us, which will somehow affected our business.
Today we went through something that was totally unaccepted and i’m fumed. The incident happened today at 10:30am, we was informed one of our staff contracted Covid-19. As the management, we have to take precautionary measures. Immediately, we arranged all the staff on duty to the clinic for Covid test. But luckily all of them were tested negative.
Following that, we have to close down the outlet for full sanitization and even contacted all the customers who dined in our cafe yesterday.

Staff: Yes! I did the test together with my friend and only today they send me the report.

I was fumed as i found dispute in the timing of her informing me and the test report date. After numerous questions only she told me the truth, ” I asked my friend to photoshop (edit) the Covid test result for me, i’m not infected. I wanted to quit so i lied that i’m infected ”

Company rep : It’s impossible for us to re-employ you anyway. Anyhow, we we will pass it to our lawyer to determine loss on our end under the circumstances, no home quarantine when you were unsure whether you were infected.

While everyone was struggling, economy wasn’t recovered after badly hit by Covid. I couldn’t believe she can make fun with such thing. Seriously, it’s affecting our operations. Thus, we decided to lodge a police report.
At first, i thought of giving youngster a chance. I informed her parents and asked them out. Then only i realised how parents/ family can influence their children. Because her dad, don’t even think she was in wrong.
Covid-19 hit F& B operators in Johor Bahru badly. We have been struggling, and to cope with such unexpected events, we were spending the whole day in clinic and police station.
Hence, i urged everyone to beware when you are hiring!

According to NST, the 19-year-old girl was arrested for faking positive Covid-19 test. The case was being investigated under Section 420 for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property and Section 468 for forgery for the purpose of cheating of the Penal Code and the police would apply for a remand order for the suspect.
