Milo has been at the heart of Malaysian, it’s also known as the national beverage. For most Malaysian, Milo is not just a drink but a culture. Besides Malaysia, Milo is getting popular in other Asean countries too, especially Japan, Milo is always sold out!
Japanese Youtuber Aki uploaded a video titled ” Malaysia’s National Favourite Drink “MILO” is Now Becoming Japan’s TOO?”. In the video, he make a guess on Milo from 4 different countries was widely discussed. And he found out although it’s all Milo but the taste are different.
▼ He poured Milo from 4 different countries into the transparent glass, and make an guess on the cup of Milo is from which country. First, from the colour it can be seen different, cup A is obviously lighter.
▼ After added some hot water, Aki smell the 4 cups of Milo and realised the 4 cups smell almost the same.
▼ Cup A : Aki tried this cup of Milo and said the taste is a little bit different, not a familiar taste for him as he stayed in Japan and Malaysia before. So, he guess most likely it’s Milo from Thailand or Indonesia. While Cup B is with more chocolaty. So, he guess it’ from Japan.
▼ Aki further explained Milo in Japan tastes like chocolate a lot, more like a ” Hot Chocolate”. It’s customized for Japanese palate.
▼ Following that will be Cup C where Aki said he used to stay in Malaysia for 3 years and Milo is his favourite drinks all the time. Thus, he said Cup C taste familiar, it should be Milo Malaysia.

▼ Lastly, Cup D. After tasting Cup C and D, he said both taste quite similar. He thought Malaysia and Indonesia is quite close in terms of taste of food or culture. Thus, he guess D should be from Indonesia.
▼ Time to reveal the answer! He only got it correct for Milo from Japan. Cup A: Indonesia, Cup B : Japan , Cup C: Thailand & Cup D: Malaysia
