An anonymous netizen shared a post in “UTAR Confessions” recently, he was blaming his girlfriend as he was feeling embarrassed in front of his friend, because she wanted to save some money for him.
The post read：
My girlfriend sometimes really lack of etiquette, making me feel embarrassed in front of my friends. I’m trying to tell her not to do that again but she looked sad and tears rolling in her eyes, as if i bullied her. I’m so sick of our relationship.
Recently, we done our second dose of vaccination and allowed to dine in. So, my friends suggested to have a gathering. We all bringing along our girlfriend. Of course, i was bringing her too, so can introduced her to my friends.
When we reached the mall, my friends suggested to go for western cuisine. After we were seated, all of us were looking at the menu. My girlfriend said she wanted to order a fish and chips. The friend who seated next to us said the fish and chips wasn’t taste that good, because the fish wasn’t that good. He suggested us to try out the short rib instead.
Then my girlfriend told my friend: 「 But that is expensive.」
OMG, I’m not feeling that good. As if like i can’t afford the RM60++ rib? I had been working for a year, i still can afford to have a good meal once in a blue moon.
I didn’t lost temper on the spot, but all my friends were looking at us the moment my girlfriend commented on the price. Do you know how shameful is it? She sort of humiliated me. I’m still trying to explain to other friends for her saying that she don’t like red meat. We will checked out other option in the menu.
I asked her :「Do you want to try this? Just order whatever you want, we seldom dine-in now!」But she insisted to order her fish and chips. The moment i saw the price on the menu, then i knew why she is ordering that. Because fish and chips priced RM20++, that’s the cheapest! She behaved the same all the times, worried about the price, don’t want to waste money. Since she ordered, then i don’t want to talk so much about it.

When we were half way eating, my friend was asking me:「So, your girlfriend still ordering fish and chips?」I’m really speechless, embarrassed. I tried one slice of her fish, it tasted awful, like a dog food. That is why no one is ordering the fish and chips. XX, my friends must thought i’m a stingy boyfriend, couldn’t even afford the girlfriend’s meal.
After the meal, we went for bubble tea.. walk around for a while then we went back. I lectured her in the car :「 Don’t talk like that, please think a better way to express yourself.」She seemed to feel wronged and was about to cry.
She is always like that when we go out for a meal. I knew her family financial condition is not that good, but if she continued to behave like that, it’s hard for us to continue our relationship.
