This is my understanding on MySejahtera latest feature, correct me if i’m wrong.
1) Recently, MySJ rolled out a new feature called MySJ Trace. But a lot of people don’t understand what is bluetooth have to do with the MySJ Trace.
2) In the nutshell, MySJ Trace is a feature help KKM ( Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia) to trace the close contact of Covid-19 patient.
3）For example, today i go to Tesco and Aeon. I turn on my bluetooth in both of this location. The people around me turn on the bluetooth too. Then we will be able to detect each other through MySJ Trace.
4）In this example, “22 interactions today” means i have an interaction with 22 people during my stay in the 2 location i went.
5）Some people may misunderstand the “22 interactions today” means you interacted with 22 infected patient. Definitely not ! Don’t freak yourself out!
6）Let say within 3 months, if 1 of the 22 people unfortunately infected with Covid-19. Then KKM can use the data from MySJ Trace to identify the close contact.
7）According the scenario given above, because it’s 3 months later thus i’m consider safe, and not a close contact.
8）But, in the case, 1 out of the 22 people that i interacted with infected with the virus within 1 week . My risk of contracted the virus will be respectively higher.
9）But of course, another question that we should think is after we turn on bluetooth, how far can our bluetooth detected? ( what is the range of the bluetooth connection?)
10）And another question is, if you do not use MySJ Trace and unfortunately you contracted the virus, you will not where/how you contracted the virus, am i right?
