Living costs are usually higher in the big cities comparing with small towns. Hence, a lot of people will be thinking maybe living in small town is more affordable and with less financial pressure. However, things might change over the time as cost of living in small towns are getting higher. But sadly you will still notice disparity of income for people live & work in a small town and the those in the big city.
A netizen from Alor Setar (AS) took social media to share he take away an economy rice and iced coffee. It cost him more than RM10 ++! So, don’t even think living cost in Alor setar is low anymore. Things in small town is getting expensive now!

RM8.50 + RM2.50 Nes beng ( Iced Nescafe). Don’t ever tell me living in Alor Setar is cheap. A house of Pulasan is closed yo RM600k-700k, a salted fish fried rice is RM6 and even a burger cost up to RM20++!
Coffee selling in some cafe already cost RM18, even more expensive than Starbucks coffee. A normal roadside steamboat can cost up to RM100++, price is more or less like HaiDiLao. But, in term of service is far behind HaiDiLao.
You still dare to say living cost in small town is lower? I think RM3,000 isn’t even enough for a month. Those with wife and kids, to be honest i don’t know how they struggle their life. The amount of money needed for wedding dinner+ arrangement, car loan, house loan, insurance, food, basic living expenses.. and so on.
