This is my real life experience, the so called one to one for phone replacement- Protection plan that cost me RM949 and after the claim, i’m asked to pay additional RM349. End up, they replaced me a second hand phone, Johor Mxxxxxxs staff insisted it’s a new phone. But, have you ever see a new phone with so many scratches?
They were trying to confuse me with the plan, and said only Apple watch with one to one replacement. I was speechless, am i having any misunderstanding on the terms in the protection plan?
While, Mxxxxxxs customer service reverted the email with explanation, the phone was send for repair and only if repair is not feasible to solve the reported issue then replacement of whole unit will take place. I was confused : Why both side are telling me a different story? who should bear the responsibility?
Mxxxxxxs staff told me : Normally when you pay RM349 for the Mxxxxxxs Service, they will be replacing a new phone while repairing the screen shouldn’t have any charges.
I paid both RM349+ when i collected my phone and RM949 for the protection plan. But, what they replaced is a second-hand iPhone. So in fact, they will never replaced a new phone and only repairing.

Post author : No damage. But some scratches on the screen, i’m thinking to change a new screen. Mxxxxxxs staff was suggesting me smashing the glass at the back and paid RM349 and they will do a one to one replacement. I was so naive followed they said.

▼ One netizen with the same experience：Me too, bought the protection plan, at first they told me one to one replacement ( Never mentioned charges needed). When my phone got problem, then they want me to pay additional and moreover, they replaced me a second hand phone.

▼ Other Apple users suggesting：Best to get the protection from Apple Care, which is under Apple warranty, you even can claim when you are oversea ( within 2 years). But the Mxxxxxxs protection plan can only claim under Mxxxxxxs.
▼ I bought my iPhone in Sxxxxh and bought the protection plan too. The staff also suggesting the same. When it’s close to warranty date then smashed it and get the replacement. But i don’t dare to do it.

- We will replace the product of one of like kind and quality if the product not repairable or beyond economical repair. The replaced product ( the damaged unit) shall become our property. Due to technological advances, the replacement product may be of lower retail value than the original product.
So it written in the T&C not necessary giving you the new phone, it’s up to their discretion.
