A mother took social media to share her son who is a victim of school bullying fractured his cervical vertebra and suffering form severe muscle and bone damage on his neck, making him difficult to move.
This incident happened at one of the Sekolah Kebangsaan in Penang.

The post read:

There are three bullies in my son’s class who have been bullying and harassing classmates, including my son.The incident happened on Wednesday morning during a physical education class. They intentionally kicked the ball at my son, but they didn’t expect to hit his neck. The CT scan showed traces of a fractured cervical vertebra and severe muscle and bone damage to his neck, making him difficult to move, and his shoulder is uneven. He needs long-term physical therapy in order to recover.
After the incident, I have been taking care of my son day and night in the hospital, and I also posted my son’s situation in the class group so that other parents and teachers would know. However, there was no response from the school even a day after the incident. At the afternoon on Thursday, I publicly demanded a reasonable explanation and accountability from the school in the group. The principal replied that they would investigate.
Today, the teacher sent me a message asking which hospital and which ward my son was in because the principal wanted to visit. After waiting for a while, we went downstairs for physical therapy because we could not delay the treatment ,when we returned to the ward, the nurse told us that a principal had come and asked for my son’s medical report without my permission. When the nurse refused, the principal persisted and demanded to see the doctor.
In the same afternoon, the principal called me and said that they had questioned three students who were most likely to have witnessed the incident. Two students said that the bully kicked the ball accidentally, while another student said he/she didn’t know. The problem is that two of the witnesses are of the same ethnicity as the bullies, and one of student is even good friends with them.
I told the principal that it’s not easy to tell whether it was intentional or accidental just by looking at it. The principal argued that if it was intentional, the bully would have aimed for my son’s head or eyes. I replied that the World Cup’s soccer players would lose if such an accurate method were used to determine intention.
If the school really wanted to investigate, why didn’t they ask the whole class instead of just three students? Regardless of whether it was intentional or accidental, they have seriously injured my child. Why the parents and children not apologized yet? Isn’t apologizing is so hard when you making a mistake?
According to the principal, the bully’s father is also in a high position in the school’s PIBG and he caused a scene when he found out that the school was investigating his son. Instead of taking responsibility for his son’s actions, he threatened to call the police and report the school.
The school’s stance is that the two witnesses said it was an accident, and they hope that I won’t pursue the matter any further. The school also cannot do anything to punish the bully because it was an accident.
So, should I just swallow my anger and let it go? The other party has hurt my child, and they haven’t even apologized or shown any concern. Is this fair?
I really want to do something for my child, but my ability is limited, and I don’t know what to do. I feel so helpless and sad.
▼ Some netizens giving some advice to raise awareness on this matter as well as seek for legal advice. Some also resonated felt sad and angry on such incident.
