The parents of Malaysian student, Irene Chung who was strangled to death by a Taiwanese man on Oct 28 reached Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 7.15pm last night ( Nov1). Her mother broke-down in tears saying, ” We are here already, to bring you home.”
They are accompanied by immigration officers to undergo Covid-19 test. After received the test results, healthcare officers from Covid-19 control and prevention team, together with the parents heading straight to the Funeral parlour in Tainan from airport.
Her mother was breaking down in tears when they reached Kaohsiung mortuary to identify the daughter’s body, she can be heard saying, “I don’t want to be like this.” . The father told media, ” I thought the time i come to Taiwan is to attend her graduation. Never thought, it will turn up to be like this.” It is hard for them to accept the passing of their beloved daughter.
The Taiwanese man, with surname Liang who was arrested on Oct 29, confessed he had sexually assaulted and strangled her to death before dumped her body at Alian, he also confessed that he took her belongings including her cash and mobile phone, according to the latest report from Apple Daily.
Liang was send to the detain centre in kaohsiung after an investigation. He was said looking calm throughout the investigation and no obvious emotionally up and down even after committed murder.
