5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes North Carolina, Strongest Since 1916!

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 that struck North Carolina near its border with Virginia at 8:07 a.m., following a much smaller quake several hours earlier. This earthquake is the strongest to shake the state since 1926.

There were no reports of serious injuries, but some minor structural damage was reported in Sparta, as well as cracks inroads. A Morning News Anchor, Kelly Anne Beile took Twitter to show the aftermath of the earthquake.

According to USGS, It is likely that aftershocks of magnitude 3 or higher will hit the region in the next week. It also being reported that at least 4 foreshocks of around 2.1 to 2.6 started about 25 hours before Sunday’s earthquake.

The netizens shared on their social media the CCTV and cams that captured the incident.
