Dr. Noor Hisham Warns, ” If We Do Not Come Together To Halt The Spread of Covid-19, We Maybe Seeing 4,500 Daily Cases By End Of the Month”

Health Director General, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham took Facebook to share projection on Covid-19 cases based on the Rt/R0 value. The worst case scenario, we are looking at more than 4,500 cases per day by the end of the month.

He wrote in a Facebook post today, ” We all have to come together and face the current large scale Covid-19 transmission in our country. We have 3 scenarios, 3 different models, and all gave the almost similar outputs, This graph was the simplest to illustrate our current scenario.”

We are seeing a number of projected daily Covid-19 cases at its highest of more than 4,500 cases with R0=2.2 , close to 1,500 cases with R0=1.5 and back to a double digit number of cases if we are at R0=0.3.

Following that, he also did a projection based on the current Rt value = 1.86. If are not able to flatten the curve, we will hitting more than 20,000 confirmed cases on Oct 10, which is in another 4 days time. ( For your information, we are currently sitting at 13,504 total confirmed cases on Oct 6) .

His post read ,” Where do we want to be we need to decide either to come together be united and be stronger to fight the common enemy or continue to cry over the spilled milk over and over again when the numbers are increasing.”

Netizens are concern looking at those worrying projection. Some netizens showing their support and some worried that medical services will be paralysed and suggesting MCO an option.

One commenter is hoping police, army and Rela can increase spot checks in public places and strengthen the enforcement of SOP.
