A Malaysian girl, Jade from Klang Valley took social media to share a horrifying experience. A stranger impersonating her to go on her booked grab car. Fortunately, both the driver and herself are fine! So, e-hailing driver please pay extra attention to your personal safety!

The post read:

Something horrible happened to me just now, at Mxx Vxxxxx Sxxxxxxxs west entrance.

I saw the Grab car i booked. I walked towards my Grab car and a Malay man walked in front of me. I never thought much but just wanted to hop in the Grab car i booked.

The Malay man then walked to the same Grab car, opened the door and told the driver where he wanted to go! I was dumbfounded as i’m the one who booked the Grab car, but why he hopped on the car?

I wanted to know what was going on, he impersonated me then told the driver where he wanted to go. The fees was paid just he wanted to go to another destination. Luckily, the Grab driver spotted me while he was hesitating, asking me am i Jade. I said :「I’m Jade, who are you?」

He is a Malay man, but he told me he is Jade too. I said :「Can you show me your booking details. Why are you impersonating me? I’m Jade. What are you trying to do?」. We never thought he will just run away.

After the incident, me and the driver was in shock! But why? Even if he took the ride, i might just lost RM8. But what if he is trying to rob the driver. Maybe it’s life threatening to the driver and probably i will need to bear certain legal responsibility as i’m the one who booked the car!

So, i urged all the Grab driver to be careful with the e-hailing platform user who book the service. Best is to check booking detail only let the passenger go on the car or the consequences can be unimaginable!

After the incident i was still in horror as i couldn’t imagine if i book the car to somewhere with less people. Probably the robber will go mad and hurt the driver. Really have to be extra careful!

▼ That’s scary!

▼ However some passenger don’t like the driver to ask for details : ” Some are dumb”, ” Some thought i wanted to flirt with them and close the door very hard”

▼ So i always ask the customer what’s their name, and not asking ” Are you XXX? But, a lot of passenger seems like not happy when we are asking their name. Probably they was thinking my name was shown in the app why still asking. Actually, the driver wanted to ask just to ensure they pick up the right passenger. So, in future if your driver asking for your name please tell them!
