A 37-year-old woman, Noziee Abdul Asa delivered a baby boy in her car after getting caught in traffic which caused by 2 roadblocks due to Movement Control Order (MCO) in Tawau, Sabah.
She was driven by her father, Abdul Asa Mohd Salleh (65-year-old), and accompanied by her daughter, Aisha Maizela(17-year-old). Her father received a call from his daughter saying that she was having labour pains at about 9.30am.
He immediately went to pick up Noziee and Aisha from their home to proceed to the hospital. But, they were stuck in traffic caused by two roadblocks due to the MCO for more than two hours .
“On the way to the hospital, I tried an alternative route using Jalan Tiku to avoid the traffic jam, but was caught in another congestion at roadblock in Jalan Kuhara,” he said.
Luckily, an ambulance passed by at that moment and Aisha quickly informed them of her mother’s condition
“There was a patient in the ambulance but they instructed me to follow from behind so that we could get to the hospital faster,” the grandfather said.
Noziee safely delivered her fourth child, a 3.4kg baby boy, in their Perodua Myvi near the Tawau Hospital gates.
She later updated on Facebook that her baby was admitted to another ward for developing a breathing problem. Both mother and son are in stable condition.
