In the special meeting on the Movement Control Order (MCO) today, Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that outlets in shopping malls are no longer required to check body temperature of customers. They only need to record customers’ names and contact information manually or through the MySejahtera app when entering each outlet.

The visitors who come to shopping mall are only required to take their temperature screening just once at the entrance of the mall.

“This will only be taken once at the entrance so visitors don’t need to repeatedly doing this over and over again at every shop they enter.

“However, shops are still required to record customers’ names and contact information to enable contact tracing if there is a case of Covid-19 reported and track their movement,” he said.

“The same SOP will be applied for hotels. They have to go through the temperature screening only once and then they can go into the different shops or restaurants and give their details there,” he said.
