Sadly, the ginger cat that played the main character of the bestselling books, died at the age of 14, on Monday (15th June). The post of Bob’s passing garnered over 366K likes and 231K shares on their official Facebook page.
The book A Street Cat Named Bob was published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2012, tells the journey of James Bowen and Bob. The book quickly becomes a public sensation, alongside the other three sequels which are The World According to Bob, A Gift from Bob, and The Little Book of Bob with the selling of 8 million copies in 40 different languages. The book was also made into a film in 2016, starring Luke Treadaway as James and Bob as himself with the sequel coming later this year.
Bob lead an amazing life meeting supporters at book-signings, traveling all around the globe and coping with feline fame, as both of them were loved by their fans. Surely, this remarkable ginger cat will be incredibly missed.
James Bowen said that Bob saved his life and gives him more than just companionship. Bob gives him the determination and guidance that he’d been missing. The success that James and Bob had was unimaginable and that there will be no other cat can touch millions of lives as Bob did.
