In the videos posted online, a topless man believed to be Singaporean can be seen holding a poodle by its neck and head while repeatedly hitting both its body and face. He was then seen swinging the dog by its hind legs.
He also swings the poodle in the air and at one point smiles at the camera while holding the limp body of the dog.
The poodle can be seen with two limbs tied up and cannot escape from him.
It is unsure when the videos were taken but the Facebook post that compiled the videos was uploaded at around 2:30am on July 18.
According to CNA, The Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) is investigating on the case.
AVS has identified the man in the video. The preliminary investigations showed the videos were filmed a few years ago. Since the filming of the videos, the dog has been adopted by another person.
“The dog is in good physical condition and is well taken care of by its current owner,” said Ms Jessica Kwok, group director of AVS.
