Netizen was in shocked seeing hospital bill for 1 day hospitalisation to remove a fishbone amounted RM8,469.40.
An insurance agent, Edward Yap shared on with China Press that his client was choked on a fishbone after a curry fish head dinner. The client was first headed to a nearby clinic, however, the clinic refer them to the nearby hospital for treatment.
The client was then headed to the A&E in a private hospital. The doctor was not around so he/she is advised to come back in the morning. On the next day, the client went back to the hospital, doctor advised him/her to be admitted for the treatment. The client was then taken for a x-ray and hospitalised for 1 day.
However, he said it’s not for him to doubt doctor’s judgement or professionalism, but he think this thousand ringgit hospital costs is a way too much.
His facebook post came with a caption,” Hospital bill to remove a fishbone, is it reasonable?” He also urged the relevant authority to look into this matter as the medical expenses is getting higher.
