Nearly 100 videos of cooking demonstrations on the Sugu Pavithra youtube channel have been deleted.
It was discovered on Saturday (Jul 25) that the channel with 785,000 subscribers and close to 100 videos featuring cooking guides and recipes by husband-and-wife team M. Sugu and S. Pavithra, has had all its content deleted, reported by The Star.
Pavithra and her husband Sugu became YouTube sensations after they began uploading videos of her cooking on the channel during the movement control order (MCO), following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Within a few months, the couple garnered hundreds of thousands of subscribers, a silver YouTube Button, and even met Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who presented them with a camera tripod, a microwave oven, a rice cooker and cooking utensils on Jul 9.
Lately, Pavithra received the title of “Ipoh City Icon”, which is given to Ipoh-born individuals for their success.
However, on Jul 24, Sugu was charged with hurting Pavithra at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital premises’ parking lot and in possession of a sickle at the hospital.
According to NST, Pavithra said she forgave her husband. She told media on the day posting bail for her husband that she declined the recognition of Ipoh City Icon and just want to live a normal life and focus on their YouTube channel.
