Police arrested an irresponsible couple who had removed their pink quarantine wristbands to go grocery shopping in the Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) area in Kuala Sanglang, yesterday.

2 villages in Perlis – Kuala Sanglang and Kampung Tanah Timbul are placed under TEMCO from Aug 10 to 31 following an outbreak of Covid-19 cases linked to the PUI Sivagangga cluster in Kedah.

The 54-year-old man and his 65-year-old wife were nabbed at the Jalan Simpang Empat-Kuala Sanglang roadblock while riding a motorcycle home to Kampung Kuala Sanglang at 3.30 pm.

“After questioning, they admitted to removing their quarantine tags, claiming they suffered allergic reactions when wearing them,” said Kangar district police chief Superintendent Wari Kiew.

He added that the couple had used a rat trail to circumvent the roadblocks which had been installed since the imposition of the TEMCO.

Oh please! People who suppose to be on home quarantine, please just #stayathome. The irresponsible act will pose a threat to public health and safety since it was not sure if they tested positive or otherwise.

Let’s adhere to the rules that set by our government. Together we break the chain of Covid-19!
